Hypnosis involves a recognition of the roles of both the conscious and subconscious mind.
The conscious mind exists in moment-to-moment living.
The subconscious mind stores the thoughts and experiences of the past.
When a person sets out to achieve a goal, the conscious mind is responsible for creating the timeline and the actions required to reach the goal. In this way, the conscious mind is the well-intentioned “goal setter.” When it comes to “goal getting,” or living out the steps toward the goal, the subconscious mind plays a critical role. As it retains information and experiences, it will either agree with the conscious mind and aid in reaching the goal, or it will disagree.
The practice of hypnosis creates positive changes in the subconscious mind. It replaces the hidden negative thoughts that threaten your goal with positive associations that help you achieve your goal. Hypnosis is an effective form of internal conflict resolution, bringing harmony and establishing purpose in life by reconciling the subconscious and conscious minds.
